    Tianna's Bio:
I'm a nursing intended major, biology/psychology minor and a part of the Honors program. In addition to school, I also work at McCarthy Manor as a CNA. In my "freetime" I like to explore Duluth, hang out with the girls, color, go to concerts, fish, hunt, enjoy the great outdoors, and spend time with my family and my boyfriend. I love Scholastica and Duluth and can't wait to spend the next couple of years here.

Cake and Renfroe

BEEP, BEEP! Need a ride? A ride where you ask, a ride to free entertainment on campus…

I’m the advertising chair for the Campus Activities Board (CAB) here on campus. Basically what we do is bring in fun for all of the students at Scholastica.  CAB has been known to bring musicians, comedians, and hypnotists for your enjoyment along with random activities like Candy Land Tournaments and Grocery Bingo. Enough of the recruitment broadcast, you’ll hear more about CAB later. Now I want to talk about Austin.

Yesterday, we had our first coffeehouse of the year with Austin (Kyle) Renfroe. It was Austin’s fourth year performing for us and we hope he comes back to see us when he is famous. Austin is right on the break of signing a big record deal this year and is currently on the radio in the UK.

The Girls and I with Austin Kyle

Last year when he was here (not sure how I missed it) my roommate returned from the show and just would not stop talking about Austin. She had been blown away by his performance. I’m sure it had a little something to do with the Disney songs. (For those of you who don’t know, Austin is a sucker for Disney love songs and well, so are we!) And of course, she had bought his CD, gotten it autographed, and took a picture with him. I listened to his album that night and thought, “ya this kid is pretty good.” Well let’s just say my roommate’s obsession was contagious. I now know every word to all of Austin’s songs.

This year I wasn’t going to miss out on Austin’s show. I made it…and I have way more “Austin Fever” than I did before. Not only does this guy have amazing vocal talents, but he is very laid back. My roommates and I were lucky enough to have the opportunity to chat with him in the comfort of our own living room (CAB perks :). We opened the door, he strolled in, sat down, and chilled.

I guess what I’m trying to get at is if you ever have a chance to see Austin Renfroe live, DO IT! And of course come to all the CAB events that you can.
