Gen Eds…Are they worth it?
You ever wondered why you are stuck in a History or Philosophy class yet you are a Computer Information Science major, or maybe you are a History major but you have to endure a semester long of a Natural science course? Well I was there one time too. I did not know why I had to enroll in a course that does not entirely fit my focus or major. It took me a while to realize that this liberal approach to education is to my benefit. Taking these classes helps me understand the diversity aspects of the world. I took a spirituality class once, I had no clue what exactly we were going to learn about but at the end it made me understand and respect people with different religious views to mine. Taking these classes has helped in my critical thinking skills as well and I would say I gained knowledge in different areas by taking these Gen Eds.
