The London Eye
What a way to end the London Study Abroad program! For our last full day of activities together, before everyone starts leaving for flights home and to other countries, we all jumped on the London Eye for the most beautiful view in the city. The London Eye is located on the south bank of the river Thames. Also known as the Millennium Wheel, is a Ferris wheel that opened December 31st, 1999 to celebrate the transition into the new millennium. At the time, it was the worlds largest Ferris wheel and it continues to be Europes tallest ferris wheel. It has an estimated 3.5 million visitors every year, making it the most visited tourist attraction in London. It was so fun standing at the top with my classmates pointing to where we ate dinner and trying to find our hotel. I am so glad this view will be one of the last things I remember about my travels here.
