    Tayler's Bio:
My name is Tayler and I was an English major/biology minor at the College of St. Scholastica! I have lived in Duluth all of my life so I know all the best local restaurants and hiking trails. On campus, I was involved with The Cable, Bella Voce, the Northstar Reports, the McNair Scholars Program, Student Support Services, and the English & Arts Club. Off campus, I volunteered with Mentor Duluth and enjoy throwing theme parties with friends and family.

Safe Haven Fundraiser

Safe Haven is a local domestic violence shelter and resource center dedicated to serving battered women and their families in Duluth and Northern Minnesota. Bella Voce, the select women’s choir at St. Scholastica, has developed a strong relationship with Safe Haven through collaboration on fundraisers. Today, we were invited to sing at a fundraising luncheon to raise awareness of Safe Haven’s efforts and funds to support its program.

Bella Voce is involved with at least one such fundraiser each year through invitations such as this one and through our own concerts, such as the annual Still I Rise: Songs and Stories of Struggle and Strength. Participatinf in these fundraisers as a singer has had an immense impact on myself and the group dynamic of Bella Voce. As a group, we have come closer together. We share more, we trust more, and we understand more. We get to use music to do something beautiful and make the world a little bit brighter. Individually, I have become more aware of my impact on the world. I know that the little things I do every day, even just singing a song, can make a difference in the world.
