My name is Tayler and I was an English major/biology minor at the College of St. Scholastica! I have lived in Duluth all of my life so I know all the best local restaurants and hiking trails. On campus, I was involved with The Cable, Bella Voce, the Northstar Reports, the McNair Scholars Program, Student Support Services, and the English & Arts Club. Off campus, I volunteered with Mentor Duluth and enjoy throwing theme parties with friends and family.

Last Night of Swing Dancing

Monday was bittersweet this week as it was the last day of Swing Dance Club for the year! Since I am graduating, it was the last Swing Dance even for me at St. Scholastica/UMD. Swing Dancing has been great for me. It gave me more confidence about my body, contributed to my weekly exercise, and I met the cutie in the photo who I have been dating for six months now! I seriously encourage incoming students to step out of their comfort zone and try different activities like Swing Dancing, Improv Club, or English & Arts Club. There are so many opportunities and you’ll never know what might be your new hobby if you don’t get out and give it a shot. I know that Swing Dancing will stay with me for the rest of my life and I will make an effort to join community clubs, classes, or events that include it. College has been so good for me, and Swing Dancing is just one of the amazing things I have gotten to do!
