    Tayler's Bio:
My name is Tayler and I was an English major/biology minor at the College of St. Scholastica! I have lived in Duluth all of my life so I know all the best local restaurants and hiking trails. On campus, I was involved with The Cable, Bella Voce, the Northstar Reports, the McNair Scholars Program, Student Support Services, and the English & Arts Club. Off campus, I volunteered with Mentor Duluth and enjoy throwing theme parties with friends and family.

Infographics: A Class with a Cause

For my infographics class with Patricia Hagen we have a semester long assignment to collect different images that we think display good (or bad) design techniques. I’ve collected event posters, paint color swatches, fun icons, and even scrapbook pages. We use these images as inspiration for our infographics assignments. For our final assignment, we are to use our inspiration guide to create an infographic about something we care about. I have chosen to create a poster encouraging college students to volunteer for Mentor Duluth, a local non-profit that I am a part of. In Duluth alone, there are over 250 kids on the waiting list to get a mentor including my Mentee’s younger brother. I love how in all of my classes with Pat she creates assignments that have real world application. I get to create something to support a cause that is important to me, something tangible that I can print and hang around the halls of CSS, and something that Mentor Duluth can keep for promotion if they so choose.
