    Ph.D., George Washington University

    Tony's Bio:
A bio is always hard to write at my age (think grandfather). I have taught economics for 31 years, the last 21 at CSS. For four of those years I was the school's Athletic Director adding track and field and Nordic skiing, and laying ground work for football and women's hockey. I am married with two grown children. My daughter is working on her PhD in Chemistry as the Univ. of Chicago and she is the mother of my grandson, which is pretty cool. My son is a screen writer in LA. Eight of his scripts have been produced. He is also a licensed private investigator, which is odd.

Summer’s Over

Faculty and Staff have an “institute” they have to attend at the end of August.  It’s usually long and dry.  There’s a two hour faculty meeting, a 90 minute department meeting and speeches.  It is not my favorite event of the year.  But, it is a clear punctuation point for the end of summer.  So, despite it being hot and humid outside, I am in my office finalizing the details for my fall classes.  I am actually looking forward to the students getting back and to start teaching my courses.  Really, in a time of economic uncertainty, I have a great, great job and I realize I have been blessed.
