Gallon of Water

Sunday, September 10th, 2017

I’ve made a commitment to drink more water this school year. three weeks ago, I bought a gallon of water and since then I have been drinking a gallon a day. I’ve noticed several pros and just one con about drinking so much water. First off, I’ve noticed my diet has been improving! I usually love to eat snack throughout the day and mostly at night. While drinking water, I don’t crave much food throughout the day. In addition, I have been much more active, getting more sleep, taking fewer naps throughout the day and I just feel much healthier. The only bad thing about it is constantly using the restrooms! Other than that, I will continue to build on this habit because I see it beneficial to myself and my academics.

Reading Week

Friday, November 4th, 2016

This past week was ‘reading week’ at Regent’s University London. This means, I have not had to attend most of my courses Monday-Friday. It is a kind of fall break for us exchange students over here. One of my courses is in the drama school, so I still attended Improv. I love that class more than anything, though, so I was glad to be there on Tuesday. On the other hand, I have tried to squeeze out all that I can of the break. I spent a decent amount of time on work for my classes, but I also found time to take the train to Dover, UK. There, I explored the White Cliffs of Dover; they were breathtaking. I fully enjoyed walking along the water, and I saw the coast of France [what?!]. Now, I am in Bournemouth, UK. Here, I plan to explore the Jurassic Coast, look for Durdle Door, relax and simply enjoy the company of the water.

Great Time for Swimming in Lake Superior

Tuesday, August 16th, 2016

This is the time of the yer when Lake Superior is the warmest and most swim able temperature. You can catch a lot of people swimming in the lake if you walk down the lakewalk or go to park point beach. I plan on going for a swim later today since the water is so refreshing!

The Dog-Friendly Lakewalk

Tuesday, June 21st, 2016

The lakewalk along Lake Superior is a great place to go for a walk or run in the summer. There is also a lot of spots along the path where you can get access the water and explore a little. A great thing about the lakewalk, other than being a beautiful path, is that it is super dog-friendly. There are multiple stations that have dog bags to pick-up waste and many times, there are a lot of dogs off of their leash playing in Leif Erickson Park. So if you are to ever have a dog in Duluth, just know it’s a great place to do so.

Great Lakes Aquarium

Monday, January 18th, 2016

Today, I made my very first visit to the Great Lakes Aquarium in Duluth, and I really enjoyed my experience there. From bonding with my Dad to teaching young souls about the curiosities of Lake Superior, I had a blast. My favorite thing about the entire Aquarium was the wall of water that featured a numerous collection of symbols for water and water related entities. The symbol shown in my photograph represents ‘water,’ and there is something about the simplicity of this particular symbol that catches my attention. Water is my most favorite element, and it is also one of my most favorite things about our Planet Earth. Some of the things I enjoy most in life are pursued in/on the water. I have had some incredible opportunities to bond with Lake Superior, and, for some reason, I was intrigued by this representation of something that is so special to me.
