End of Summer Semester

Sunday, July 30th, 2017

My online class is DONE! I am so relieved to have completed another year of summer classes on a strong note. I think I’ve been taking at least one summer course for almost 4 summer straight! But that’s the sacrifice for the degree right?! This class wasn’t hard, but it was challenging. Computer coding isn’t a strong suit for me, but through virtual teamwork and communication skills I was able to learn a lot and to complete all of my assignments. I don’t know if I’ll ever use the skills that I learned in this class in my future profession, but that’s not the point, the point is that I’m a better person for taking this challenging course and that I am now more rounded in my education. Always take the challenge with an open mind and you may just end up surprising yourself!

Duluth: known for the winter snow and the summer breeze

Tuesday, July 26th, 2016

When Duluth comes up in conversation, it is more than likely that the topic of winter follows. It is true that Duluth winters are pretty extreme, but the summers here are utopic. The flowers bloom, the lake is fresh to swim in, and the sun shines. When going to college up here, it is nice to stay for the summer to kind of vacate after a challenging school year.

Everyone is Leaving

Sunday, March 20th, 2016

Most students are leaving for spring break, whether it be for home or for vacation. Being an out-of-state student from Texas, both options are pretty expensive. My girlfriend has all of her things packed to enjoy a week in southern Minnesota while I enjoy my days off from classes in Duluth.

Being Home

Friday, January 8th, 2016

Although I really like school and everything it comes with, I’ve really enjoyed being home. I haven’t done a whole lot since I’ve been home, but I don’t mind it. I’ve worked a little here and there, otherwise I’ve spent my time at home. I did go into my high school to give my transcript to my counselor in order to receive my scholarships this next semester. Then after I see what I will get off of my bill, I will be able to pay my bill. One thing I still need to do is look for my books that I’ll need next semester. I’m not sure what books I will need to order, but I still have time to look. Overall, being home has been nice and relaxing.

Back to school

Monday, October 5th, 2015

I had a week off from school last week, I was in New Orleans for the AHIMA convention with other HIM students. Our HIM classes were cancelled all week for this event so I was not at school at all. I felt very out of the loop after missing, even though I didn’t miss much! I’m glad to be back at school and back in my routine. Sometimes it’s nice to have a schedule and a routine in college so you stay on track and focused.
