My First Second Semeser

Friday, January 20th, 2017

This is my second semester of college total; my first spring semester, and I am very excited! This semester I am taking Dignitas, French 2, Development Through the Lifespan Psychology, Chemistry 2, and Biology of the Cell. I lucked out this semester when it comes to my schedule. One 8am class but then the rest start at 10am or later!! I’ve never had a better night’s sleep then I do now, knowing that the classes that I was advised to take and chose, allow for MORE SLEEP! Sleep is so important (and let’s be honest, it’s great!) especially when you’re involved with other things going on! For example, I participate in InterVarsity Christian Fellowship on campus, along with the Yoga Sculpt fitness class! Working out my brain, my spirit, and my body requires a lot of energy, but I know that I will get it! I’m so thankful to my advisor for helping me make the decisions I needed to when it came to classes.

Finals Advice

Friday, April 29th, 2016

As far as finals go, they’re hard! Mentally draining and time consuming. My advice is the start studying now! Take the 20 minutes a night to go over notes and to start memorizing the materials you’ll be tested on. Being a last minute type of person never works out well when finals come around. Relive the stress of finals week my starting to study as early as you can handle so that when finals come around they’re less stressful and you’re better prepared. I have definitely learned this lesson the hard way but now as a senior I take the time to study in advance and feel as though I know the test material better when finals come around. A little bit of studying each night goes a long way!

Plans for Spring

Thursday, January 21st, 2016

This spring will be extra busy for me as I am now going into my last semester of college. I will be getting resumes and job applications prepared, studying for my certification test for HIM, prepping for my 2 week professional practice experience in Los Angelos, and getting excited to accept my diploma and head on my way to the next journey in my life! College goes by so quickly, I feel as though these four years have only been a couple years. I remember moving into Somers years ago and feeling so excited for the next four years at CSS. Now, I’m a senior and I can’t believe how great my time here has been and how fast it all went by. In my 22 years of life, the past four years have been the best, most exciting, challenging, and mind opening years so far.

Back in School

Thursday, January 21st, 2016

We are now 3 days into the semester and I’m feeling the grind already! The HIM program is unique for spring semester of your senior year.  We have class Monday through Friday 8am until 11:30am. During that time various professors com in to teach different classes. It is very similar to a block class schedule. We will be doing many hands on group projects this semester to exercise our teamwork and presentation skills. So far I am very excited about the semester and am a little nervous for all of the 8am classes. At the same time I think the 8am classes will prepare me for the real world!

Keeping Busy!

Wednesday, December 30th, 2015

It’s hard to get bored over break. Today I decided to order books and organize my planner! I was so thrilled that this is my last time ordering books (for a while)! It adds up so fast throughout college. Luckily I only need one book for my last semester and then I’m done! I like ordering from Amazon and then selling my books back through Amazon. I find it user friendly and they also have good prices! My advice, don’t wait until the end of break to order books, do it now!
