Shadowing Continues

A few days back I had another amazing experience to shadow! The dentist specialized in periodontics. He does a lot of implant work. This is important because implants are becoming more and more popular. It was more surgical based and I ended up getting to see a few surgical procedures. It was very fun!

Even though I am spending a lot of hours interning in Colorado the Dentist I am interning for is making sure I am getting plenty of shadowing hours. The other day he sent me just north of Denver to shadow a couple of very intelligent endodontists. I saw some really cool technology specific to the endodontics field as well as an ‘apicoectomy’ procedure.

As I have mentioned in previous blogs, observation hours (shadowing) is a crucial part to the application to physical therapy graduate schools. These observation hours have become more than just fulfilling a requirement for an application. I find myself looking forward to the days that I observe because I know it’s what I want to do with my life. I thoroughly enjoy watching folks achieve the goals they are striving for, and it is an extra benefit to be a part of that.
