The Jurassic Coast

Monday, November 7th, 2016

It is about time for me to return to my bit of reality in London. My final day in Dorset, England was nothing less than extraordinary, though. I am content with what I have accomplished. I spent the morning and afternoon meandering up-and-down along the Jurassic Coast. You could say my childhood dreams had been partly fulfilled. My favorite films as a child were The Little Mermaid, Harry Potter, Jaws, and, finally, Jurassic Park. I experienced the wonder of the ocean, yet again, the magic of England’s hidden treasures, and the complex energy of geological phenomena. I am endlessly grateful to The College of St. Scholastica for giving me the opportunity to be here, studying in such a beautiful country.

Reading Week

Friday, November 4th, 2016

This past week was ‘reading week’ at Regent’s University London. This means, I have not had to attend most of my courses Monday-Friday. It is a kind of fall break for us exchange students over here. One of my courses is in the drama school, so I still attended Improv. I love that class more than anything, though, so I was glad to be there on Tuesday. On the other hand, I have tried to squeeze out all that I can of the break. I spent a decent amount of time on work for my classes, but I also found time to take the train to Dover, UK. There, I explored the White Cliffs of Dover; they were breathtaking. I fully enjoyed walking along the water, and I saw the coast of France [what?!]. Now, I am in Bournemouth, UK. Here, I plan to explore the Jurassic Coast, look for Durdle Door, relax and simply enjoy the company of the water.
