Pre-Raphaelite Final

Friday, May 5th, 2017

For my Pre-Raphaelite final with Dr. Hagen I did a photo project with Pre-Raphealite inspired themes. Shayna acted as my Ophelia, posing in natural and watery settings. We took over 300 photos and I ended up using 13 for my final project. I did some photoshop, but very minimal to keep with the Pre-Raphaelite belief that we should show things the way they were, not the way we want them to be. I was really lucky that it was such a beautiful day so I was able to capture high detail on the camera. This shoot went so well I ended up using a few of the photos for my photography portfolio as well. I love creative projects like these because it really allows me to contribute to what I am learning. Here are a few of my favorites!

Photography

Wednesday, January 18th, 2017

Now that the semester has started and I’ve gotten some introduction to all of my classes, I think I am most excited about my photography class. I will have the opportunity to borrow a camera from the school while I save up to buy my own. For the class, we will have quizzes, two tests, and several photo projects. The class will encompass everything from how to work with the camera to how to edit and print our photos. At the end, we will have a portfolio of twenty photographs and a better understanding of photography. I joined this class so that I can improve my blog posts, instagram posts, and scrapbooks. I am most excited to take my new photography skills abroad on the London trip and gets lots of awesome pictures of me and my friends.

Spring Classes

Tuesday, December 20th, 2016

Now that the semester has come to a close I am already thinking about Spring Classes! Next semester I am signed up for Digital Photography, British Literature II, Bella Voce, The Pre-Raphaelites, and the London Theater & Culture Study Abroad Trip. I am most excited for the London trip but I am pretty jazzed about my other classes as well. Pre-Raphaelites is the last class I need to complete the Honors Program and British Literature II is my last required class for my English major. Digital Photography I am taking just for me! I love scrapbooking and blogging about my Theme Parties (https://themepartycentral.wordpress.com/) so this photography class will be great. I also plan to use the skills I gain for my London trip. Then I will have tons of amazing photos to share with my friends and family when I return. As always, I love being a part of Bella Voce. This year, my favorite concert, Still I Rise, will be held at St. Scholastica which will be an amazing way to finish off my senior year.
