Fireworks at Bayfront

Tuesday, July 5th, 2016

Last night I went down to Bayfront park with a couple friends and watched the fireworks. It was definitely one of my top firework experiences. Sitting right by the lake, watching the fireworks explode above and through the reflection of the water was amazing!

Beach Day at Park Point

Friday, June 24th, 2016

It was a beautiful day outside today. After work, I went with some friends to Park Point beach. The beach is yet another perk of living in Duluth during the summer. The best part is that the water is fresh and not salty, like the ocean.

The Dog-Friendly Lakewalk

Tuesday, June 21st, 2016

The lakewalk along Lake Superior is a great place to go for a walk or run in the summer. There is also a lot of spots along the path where you can get access the water and explore a little. A great thing about the lakewalk, other than being a beautiful path, is that it is super dog-friendly. There are multiple stations that have dog bags to pick-up waste and many times, there are a lot of dogs off of their leash playing in Leif Erickson Park. So if you are to ever have a dog in Duluth, just know it’s a great place to do so.

Hartley Biking Adventure

Sunday, July 19th, 2015

My roommate and I decided to hit the trails near Hartley Nature Center last week on our bikes. Kyle, my roommate, is a big mountain biker. You could say he knows what he’s doing. Me on the other hand…not so much. Thankfully Kyle showed me the ropes and we took it decently slow.

Hartley Park

Monday, July 13th, 2015

On my quick trip to Duluth to move into my new house, my friend and I spent a few hours exploring one of my favorite parks in Duluth: Hartley Park and Nature Center! We brought my friend’s dog, Dakota, with us, too. She absolutely loved it there. Her sniffer was on high gear the whole time and she loved running through the steams and taking drink breaks. She’s a German Shepherd Dog and Labrador Retriever cross, so being in the water is second nature to her. After an hour and a half of hiking the Superior Hiking Trail through Hartley, we stopped at Hartley Pond to throw the ball for Dakota. Although, she was so tired from the hike that she couldn’t swim very well. It was awesome to see her so exhausted – there isn’t parks like this in Fargo for her to explore!
