Duluth Lifestyle

Saturday, September 9th, 2017

You learn to love it if you don’t already.

The air is crisp from the lake. You realize you’re in the city that embodies “fall” best of all. Take advantage of the nature around you. Walk, hike, bike, explore, get lost, and find new places before snow falls. Enjoy this time of the year. It will become your favorite!

Fuzzy Wuzzy Wuz A Bear

Friday, June 30th, 2017

I had just finished up a run on the Hartley Park trails when I spotted this black bear traipsing through backyards about 50 yards away. I quickly got in my car and drove up to get a closer look. The bear ended up spending some time at a garbage bin where he got into some scraps including a watermelon! Neat to see the wildlife so close, but a good reminder to be aware of your surroundings when out and about on the trails in Duluth. One of the great things about Duluth is that it is in the heart of some of Northern Minnesota’s greatest wildlife habitat. It is important to know that we share this area with some fascinating animals that deserve to be both admired and respected. If you are up in Duluth during the summer, keep your eyes peeled because the bears are out and about!

What’s Up with the Weather Duluth?

Saturday, June 3rd, 2017

So typically May in Duluth is really warm. Picture finals week: a bunch of freshman tanning up on the penthouse (they’ve probably dragged the couches out too), upperclassman laying on the Science Lawn studying, etc. Then June is normally like April again. However since I’ve been in Duluth, it has been SUN SUN SUN.  I am SO happy. Normally, it doesn’t get this hot until July. I even packed tons of sweaters to last through June! What does this mean for me? More days reading at the Lakewalk of course!
