Let’s make some small-talk

Thursday, March 28th, 2019

Let’s talk about the weather. It is said this year has broken some records in terms of the most days below freezing temperature (around 60?), the coldest couple of days (about -50F with windchill) and the most snowfall in the month of February there’s been in years. A very quick google search has not entirely verified this gossip, but I do know for a fact that last time we felt warm air outside was around early October, there were a couple of days in which classes were cancelled due to the freezing temperature (it was the first time it happened since I’ve been here; reports of ~ -50F with windchill are, in fact, accurate) and there’s been A LOT of snow since Christmas until warm temperatures (now anything above freezing feels mildly warm) began to melt the snow about a week and a half ago (yes, it’s virtually April).

During Spring break, I was effortlessly drawn to reorganizing things . . . literally, everything! Right from my bathroom caddy to my wardrobe, I went through each bin, closet, drawer, cabinet, etc in order to re-organize my stuff. Not necessarily as much of getting rid of materials but simply more of cleaning, dusting and placing back in designated spots.

Of Minnesota and solar eclipses

Wednesday, August 23rd, 2017

I did not have high expectations or hopes of seeing the solar eclipse, having checked the weather forecast and found out it will be very cloudy during the rare, yet common, occurence. Some of my friends got really good pictures and observed the entire eclipse without any clouds or rain showers in their way.. The total eclipse was observed in states such as Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming, Nebraska, Kentucky, Tennessee, and South Carolina. Hopefully, I will get to see it next time around and it won’t be as rainy and cloudy as it was during the occasion.

Minnesota is filled with lakes. You can find a tons of lakes around campus anywhere from 5 minutes away to 20 minutes away! This is my lake I visited this weekend, just another reason why I love Minnesota!
