Research Articles and Presentation

Wednesday, January 31st, 2018

This morning I had the opportunity to participate in a group meeting at St. Luke’s Hospital along with other practicing physical therapists in the area. We listened to Dr. Ruda, an orthopedic and sports medicine physician, give a presentation on foot and ankle mechanics along with syndesmotic (high ankle sprains) and peroneal tendon injuries. Dr. Rust, another practicing orthopedic surgeon in the area was also there interacting throughout the presentation.  I was given four articles prior to the gathering to read over that pertained to the topics discussed. It was a great opportunity to see how both practicing clinicians and doctors work together to share knowledge and experience to help provide improved patient centered care. I’m very happy to be in the physical therapy field and looking forward to attending some of these events in the near future as a licensed physical therapist!

This is the first month of school and clubs are meeting for the first time so free food is an ongoing theme on campus. The club meets every other week on Mondays at 7:00PM in the Center for Just Living. I look forward to all the events we will be planning and hosting this year, as well as meeting new club members!

I have to meet with my intro. to counseling professor later today to submit my final paper. After that, I just have some online tests to take for my pathophysiology class and then I should be all done. It’s a good feeling.

President Finalist

Thursday, February 18th, 2016

Today students can meet with the second finalist for president of CSS. The meeting is taking place in science at 5:30pm. Students can attend the meeting and ask the candidate questions and provide comments and concerns. It’s great that the school really wants the students involved in the process of hiring a new president.
