Intramural Championships

Thursday, December 12th, 2019

This week has been championship week for all intramural sports on campus. Both volleyball leagues and basketball have champions. Tonight the soccer and tennis champions will be crowned. Winners not only get pride and bragging rights, but also an awesome intramural champions shirt! A MVP from each league is also picked and receives their own special shirt. With intramural sports ending this week, it’s almost time for the next block of sports to begin next semester which will be advanced and rec volleyball, co-ed basketball, open soccer, and spikeball.

Intramural Halloween Costume Contest

Sunday, October 20th, 2019

This week is the final week of block one intramural sports, meaning it is playoffs! Playoffs are a fun time for all the teams because it is when they get the opportunity to win a championship shirt and bragging rights with their teammates. During playoff week this year there is also a Halloween costume contest happening! The team that dresses the best in each league will win SuperOne gift cards. And of course at the scorekeeper table there will be candy to enjoy for all who play! I am really hoping to see some great costumes this week and celebrate the teams who become champions.

Intramural Basketball Champs

Wednesday, May 3rd, 2017

Last night my team won the Intramural Basketball Championship for the co-ed 5-on-5 league. Our team consisted of seven second year and one third year CSS PT students. Intramurals are a great way to have fun, be competitive, relieve a little stress, and get to know people throughout campus, including us old-timer grad students. CSS Campus Rec does a great job at providing opportunities to play a lot of different sports and they have multiple leagues for all levels of players. Get active and join an intramural team during your time here at CSS. You get free t-shirts for winning too!!!

Intramural Volleyball Draws to an end :(

Tuesday, April 19th, 2016

It’s been a fun month playing volleyball and committing to a sport! I feel like sometimes I looked forward to playing volleyball more than I did to going to class ( whoaa did I say that?!). More fun was meeting new friends and working as a team. Too bad, we did not do so well score-wise but we met all objectives and goals of the intramural season – to have fun!! We might be having playoffs soon and that will be the end. Meanwhile, I am being welcomed back to reality by final projects, assignments and cumulative exams. Sighs.

Intramural Basketball

The rigors of graduate school are associated with a lot of mental exercise. As a student in the physical therapy program at CSS, I’m usually in the classroom from 7:45am-3pm Monday – Friday. It’s easy to wear down fairly quickly unless you give yourself a mental break with some physical activity. I like to believe I’m a pretty active guy, although, I’ve slowed down a bit now that I’m not a member of the baseball team.
