So many things are important in life. Having a good sense of humor. Listening to good music. Having a strong support network. Avoiding junk foods. Making good friends.

Gallon of Water

Sunday, September 10th, 2017

I’ve made a commitment to drink more water this school year. three weeks ago, I bought a gallon of water and since then I have been drinking a gallon a day. I’ve noticed several pros and just one con about drinking so much water. First off, I’ve noticed my diet has been improving! I usually love to eat snack throughout the day and mostly at night. While drinking water, I don’t crave much food throughout the day. In addition, I have been much more active, getting more sleep, taking fewer naps throughout the day and I just feel much healthier. The only bad thing about it is constantly using the restrooms! Other than that, I will continue to build on this habit because I see it beneficial to myself and my academics.

Grandma’s Marathon Update

Tuesday, June 13th, 2017

The 41st annual Grandma’s Marathon will be getting under way this Saturday, June 17. Below are the answers to the Who, What, When, Where, and Why questions about each race. I, myself, will be running the full-marathon and am looking to set a personal record (PR) with a sub-4 hour marathon! We will just have to see! If you are running, Good Luck! The weather is looking like it will be a great day to run! If you are in town, I highly recommend heading down to Canal Park to witness this awesome event and to cheer some runners on!

Physical Health Matters

Tuesday, April 18th, 2017

Along with mental health, which deserves a separate post, physical health is so important during your college years. I struggled during undergraduate college staying physically healthy. Although I was an athlete I found myself constantly sick and feeling sluggish. I would go in phases of eating healthy, eating crappy, and not eating enough. The past year I have learned how to balance my meals correctly and how to workout for my body. I have never felt better! Learning how to provide my body nutrients is something that I wish I would have knew about during undergraduate. I wish I would have been more conscious of what I was putting into my body and how I was treating myself. Please take a moment to research healthy eating and exercises and consider making a lifestyle change if you are feeling unhealthy, sluggish, or unlike yourself!

A Gallon a Day

Wednesday, February 22nd, 2017

If there is any advice I could recommend to anyone, I would suggest drink as much water as you can. Throughout a day, I tend to drink 128 fluid ounces of water. I have been accomplishing this challenge since new years of 2017. I have noticed a huge difference. The biggest difference is I consume just enough calories for the day whereas beforehand, I would go a little over due to unnecessary cravings.  In addition, I feel much healthier. I was able to fix my sleep cycle and get enough hours of sleep. My skin feels much healthier and I am less stressed out. If anyone wants to start improving their health, I suggest to first start with drinking lots of water while avoiding other liquids.
