St. Scholastica Feast Day

Tuesday, February 13th, 2018

Yesterday, Monday February 12th, the college community gathered together to celebrate the feast of our namesake, St. Scholastica. The Benedictine Sisters provided us with donuts and kept us feed during the day with a free Italian Buffet in the Greenview Dining Room (GDR). I went to GDR early to avoid the line and sure enough, on my way out, hundreds of people were making their way to the meal via tunnel. Staff, students, and faculty all shared the space and food!

Feast of St. Scholastica

Every year in the spring, CSS holds the Feast of St. Scholastica. Which means, for us poor college students, FREE FOOD. At the Health Science Center (HSC), they had free donut, granola bars, and juice for us in the morning before classes started. It was AWESOME! They also host a free meal in the green view dinning center which usually consists of Italian dinner of some sort. Very tasty if you ask me.

Happy Feast Day Saints!!!

Today the college community celebrates the life of St. Scholastica. There is much cheer and food on campus and a grand display of fascinating artifacts from the College’s Founding Mothers, including from Mother Scholastica Kerst herself. The celebrations will end with Mass, to be celebrated by the Bishop!!

The Feast of St. Scholastica

One way CSS celebrates its benedictine heritage is through feast day! The sisters took today to feed us students. This morning they gave out doughnuts, this afternoon was an Italian pasta bar and with parmesean chicken, followed by a dessert and fruit bar this afternoon. Last year was a german themed feast and who knows what’s in store for next year! In addition, 2 of my favorite professors got their tenure today! One of which is fellow blogger, Hong-Ming Liang. It’s a great Monday for all.
