English and Arts Club Meeting

Thursday, January 5th, 2017

The spring semester is starting shortly so we’ve already started preparing for club meetings and activities. We do lots of fun activities like attend theater productions, watch movies, write poetry and short stories, and host Murder Mystery Parties. One big thing going on this semester is that myself and our Vice President, Alex, are graduating! As awesome as that is, we need someone to take over for us when we are gone so we are starting to discuss leadership positions with our members. If you’re interested in joining the club or any leadership positions available, our next meeting is Thursday, January 26th at 7pm in T2607. We will be watching a movie and coloring.

A.R.T. Club

Tuesday, September 15th, 2015

Last night kicked off the first meeting of A.R.T. (Artists Really Trying ha!)! Half of us accidentally met in the art room and missed the meeting, but caught up during the Art minor/major informational meeting. I joined A.R.T halfway through the semester and combined with my painting class, it rekindled my love of art. Last year was the club’s very first year, but they offered glass blowing, figure drawing classes, and many more activities for free. For someone who has no room in their credit schedule to fit in another art class, this was an awesome, on my own time way of getting to be artsy! Last year they also went to Chicago for a few days and explored some art musuems. This year, there’s a lot of goals. We want to make a mural a year to create for the community and they’re thinking about planning a NEW YORK trip to visit MoMA! I’m so excited for this upcoming year and hallelujah to Monday nights in the art room!

Challenging My Art

Thursday, January 22nd, 2015

I am taking Painting 1 the first half of the semester and I have been really nervous about it. I never have felt like I can paint; I can draw decently, put the paintbrush is a whole other story. This class is really going to challenge me and put my drawing on the next level. Our professor is very talented and has commission pieces requested for the next few years! I’m happy that I have a professor with such various skill to aid me in class.
