Dining Dollars

Monday, January 22nd, 2018

Last week I spent money in Storms Den and in our Einsteins bagels store. At that rate, I thought I decided to get dining dollars. When swiping your dining dollars, students pay less than paying with card or cash. There more sales tax by paying in cash rather than dining dollars. Saving up to thirty or forty cents per transaction can accumulate throughout the semester. I personally chose to put more dining dollars on my card because it saves more money in the short future. The great thing about dining dollars is that it can be used in vending machines, storms den, einsteins and GDR. This small investment will be beneficial for whenever I am hungry and I recommend putting a few dining dollars in your student id.

Dining Dollars

So here at Scholastica we have this thing called dining dollars. Dining dollars are a part of our meal plans and can be used all over campus. They can be used for the main cafeteria or at Storm’s. They can also be used at Einstein’s Bagels or at the little convince store on campus. I have over $170 left so I have to spend it all before the semester ends!

Eating Made Easy: CSS meal plans and dining dollar purchases

Meal Dollars

Thursday, May 12th, 2016

Since it is finals week and the last week of school, it’s also the last week to use up meals and dining dollars. Storms has a schedule posted on many doors with their hours for this week and GDR has normal hours. I had about $30 left on my card so I went to Storm’s and bought a couple meals and spent the rest on chips and food for home. Dining dollars do not renew after the end of this year so whatever is not used up just goes to waste so it’s important to spend it on something! It’s pretty neat because I spent enough money to even out exactly at $0, so I’m pretty talented.

Breakfast of Champs

In college, healthy eating kind of goes to the back burner when there is a limited amount of money to spend on food and other things. Another reason why most college students don’t eat too well is because time is of the essence. It’s easier to grab some quick food rather than to make it. For me, I enjoy cooking and I try to eat as healthy as possible. I make time and budget my money so that I can eat well. Having dining dollars helps out because Storms offers a lot of healthy foods, and it’s quick.
