School of Business and Technology Club

Tuesday, August 6th, 2019

Today I would like to talk to you guys about the School of Business and Technology Club. When you will go to Saint-Scholastica, there will be dozens of exciting clubs to join. Today I would like to talk about the Business and technology club more specifically. It’s a club that focuses on lessons and advice for students in majors in the School Business and Technology. However any students from any majors are welcome as their lessons are applicable to all majors. During the weekly meeting they will talk about how to prepare for an interview, how to prepare and make a successful elevator pitch, LinkedIn and Handshake sessions to have an attractive profile for employers. They also have this big event every year called the Fish Bowl. It is basically like Shark Tank, every day student of the school can participate and present their marketable item in front of a panel composed of professors and duluth business owners. You can participate too if you have a good idea!

Is there things to do at CSS during the year?

Sunday, July 7th, 2019

A lot is the answer. The year starts with a lot of activities and welcome weekend in the first one. With your delta leaders you will get to know the school and their favorite things about it. The best thing is the club fair in which most of the clubs at the school represent their organization. They are represented by their president and vice-president. You could join a lot at the same time just to get to know them and then pick the ones that you like the most. We have many clubs that are focused on different topics, from academics and career to social justice and service. I am part of a couple of them on campus like Global Cultural Association, Circle K, Student Senate and United for Africa. And it is not about the club itself but about the message that they share with others and the events that they organize.

Planning for Black Tie Event Begins!

Wednesday, April 10th, 2019

Global Cultural Association is a club dedicated to the cultural enrichment of the student body. This mission is commonly accomplished through (semi)weekly meetings in which indigenous food from a variety of countries is served while feeding students fun facts about the country in question, but once a year, we have what we call “Black Tie Event”. It is the most iconic event of the club, and it never disappoints. As the name indicates people dress up, and we serve loads of quality food from a wide variety of countries. This year it will be happening on April 27th, and yesterday the board members of the club met for the first time to begin organizing the logistics of the event!

This Friday’s Philosophy Club meeting will be about human duty. Is there such a thing? Do we automatically inherit it the moment we are born? Are we morally obliged to reproduce? Why should we be ‘good’ human beings? What does being a ‘good’ human being mean, anyway?

No SBT Club this semester

Wednesday, February 6th, 2019

I received an email yesterday from the President of the SBT Club – Hannah Zeis letting members in the Club know about the current status of the same. The Club is basically not going to be functional this semester. And the major factor being low involvement from students. This is painful to see, as I was genuinely excited about Hannah taking the lead. Not only is she as person amazing, but also her perspective on community is vital to the position.
