Last College Mass

Sunday, May 5th, 2019

As is tradition, the first Mass of the academic year is usually celebrated on the grass in front of the Queen of Peace Chapel on campus. I barely remember my first collegiate Mass in fall 2015. This evening, I attended the last student Mass of the semester. Fr. John, who resided over the first ever Mass I attended at CSS, led the celebration. I am thankful of the role Campus Ministry has played during my time here at CSS. I met many good friends from various activities and programs organized by Campus Ministry.

Christian Student Evening Retreat

Friday, April 5th, 2019

I remember attending my first Christian Student Evening Retreat at Peace Church as a freshman. We tied knot blankets, enjoyed some music over warm chilli and other mouth-watering food. This evening, Campus Ministry will be hosting its last retreat of the semester and it saddens me that I have not been able to attend any retreats this semester. I am currently at a conference at NDSU and will not be attending this retreat again. For those who are able, the event goes from 5 – 10pm at Peace Church, just down the road/hill from CSS. Food and transportation will be provided. All are welcome!

Campus Ministry Winter Retreat

Thursday, February 7th, 2019

Campus Ministry will be hosting its traditional overnight Winter Retreat at McCabe Renewal Center tomorrow. I have been to McCabe for this retreat a couple times (maybe three?). The retreat is open to all students from all faith backgrounds. It provides an opportunity for students to bond, learn about different things, and above all, eat food in communion with others while resting and taking some time off studying and all the busyness of CSS life. Unfortunately I will not be able to make it to the retreat. Hopefully I will participate in one or a similar activity before I graduate in a few months!

St. John’s Bible Page Turning

Sunday, November 18th, 2018

This evening I facilitated yet another page turning of the St. John’s Bible at the CSS Library. I record each turning and the Library posts the events on their page. Here’s some videos from the past two weeks:

Thanksgiving Baskets

Sunday, November 11th, 2018

This year, Campus Ministry continues its annual tradition of offering students in financial need a free Thanksgiving Basket from Volunteers Involved Through Action (VITA), a club of Campus Ministry. CSS has another program, Swipe Out Hunger, that seeks to assist students facing food insecurity on campus. Students can receive meal swipes to use at the Greenview Dining Hall and can also access the food shelf. (more…)
