Finals Weekend Wedding

Tuesday, December 20th, 2016

It was my roommate’s brother’s wedding this past weekend. Although it was the weekend before finals began, it was a wedding that I could not miss. It was what we like to call a “Saints Baseball Wedding”. One of our teammates was getting married and it meant that there would be teammates from years past that would be there to reminisce, reconnect with, and share new/old stories with. Like many weddings in Duluth, it was held at Greysolon Ballroom. It was a beautiful wedding and I was even able to bring along a beautiful date who was also in the midst of studying for her DPT 2nd year finals. The wedding was a nice little study break for us, as we were able to relieve some stress out on the dance floor and step away from the textbooks for an evening!

CSS Baseball – Fall League

Friday, September 23rd, 2016

The baseball program at CSS is considered family to me. With my 2nd year of the doctor of physical therapy (DPT) program under way I’ve been extremely busy and unfortunately have not  been able to be as involved in the program as I would like. However, last night I was able to make it down to Wade Stadium to see some of my fellow teammates and good friends as they participated in “Fall Ball” (CSS baseball fall baseball practices and inter-squad games). Fall ball is a great time for guys to get the feel of how the program is run, show off their talents, become educated in the philosophies of hitting and throwing that the coaches teach, and get to know their teammates. It was great to be able to go down there last night to see how the team is looking. Not to mention, I got a great picture of the field during one of the games!

Baseball Postseason

Tuesday, May 10th, 2016

Thursday at 1pm the St. Scholastica Saints baseball team will be playing their first game in the 2016 Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Baseball Tournament against Minnesota Morris. The winner of the UMAC tournament gets an automatic qualifier into the NCAA Regional Tournament. The Saints are doing well this year and in fact just swept the #15 nationally ranked St. Thomas Tommies in a DH on Sunday (5/08/16). The Saints look to make their first NCAA College World Series appearance. So…before you head home for finals, stick around and cheer on your SAINTS this Thursday and through the weekend. If you can’t make it, check out the website below to listen/watch/support the Saints online!

CSS Baseball

Monday, March 7th, 2016

The 2016 CSS baseball season is underway! The Saints defeated the Bethel Royals 6-2 in a 9 inning contest that brought the Saints to 1-0 on the year. It was my first game as a graduate assistant coach and I was happy to be with the guys and come out with a victory. However, it was bittersweet because it was the first time since I was 5 that I have not laced up my cleats to play during baseball season. I’m just glad I can still be a part of the program and help guys have a great baseball and academic experience here at CSS.
