After a weekend snow storm that accumulated 13.4 inches of snow in the Duluth area, the weather outlook is starting to show signs of spring. The weather channel is saying 50’s and 60’s for high temperatures the next 15 days! Woo get out your sunblock Duluth! In case you are looking for a reason to get outside and enjoy the warm up, the St. Scholastica baseball team has their home opener at Wade Stadium tomorrow. Saints Baseball via Internet

As a Saints baseball alumnus I consistently try to catch as many games as possible. However, with school, internships, and “away” games it has been difficult at times. Thankfully, the sports information department does a fantastic job at providing live stats and occasionally live video of the games. I know they also do this with other CSS sports and events, which makes it really convenient for families, friends, and supporters of our programs to tune in to all of the action. Be sure to checkout the CSS athletic home page to find the sporting events you are interested in attending or pulling up live feed on your phone or computer!

Finals Weekend Wedding

Tuesday, December 20th, 2016

It was my roommate’s brother’s wedding this past weekend. Although it was the weekend before finals began, it was a wedding that I could not miss. It was what we like to call a “Saints Baseball Wedding”. One of our teammates was getting married and it meant that there would be teammates from years past that would be there to reminisce, reconnect with, and share new/old stories with. Like many weddings in Duluth, it was held at Greysolon Ballroom. It was a beautiful wedding and I was even able to bring along a beautiful date who was also in the midst of studying for her DPT 2nd year finals. The wedding was a nice little study break for us, as we were able to relieve some stress out on the dance floor and step away from the textbooks for an evening!

CSS Baseball – Fall League

Friday, September 23rd, 2016

The baseball program at CSS is considered family to me. With my 2nd year of the doctor of physical therapy (DPT) program under way I’ve been extremely busy and unfortunately have not ¬†been able to be as involved in the program as I would like. However, last night I was able to make it down to Wade Stadium to see some of my fellow teammates and good friends as they participated in “Fall Ball” (CSS baseball fall baseball practices and inter-squad games). Fall ball is a great time for guys to get the feel of how the program is run, show off their talents, become educated in the philosophies of hitting and throwing that the coaches teach, and get to know their teammates. It was great to be able to go down there last night to see how the team is looking. Not to mention, I got a great picture of the field during one of the games!
