Moving in

Sunday, September 8th, 2019

Today, I arrived in Duluth! I had entirely forgotten what green Duluth looks like. On the other hand, the weather felt familiarly cold, but it still surprises me how 10C can feel cold after summer and quite warm after winter. It is supposed to rain a lot this week; not atypical for fall in Duluth, but in my experience when it rains here it rains cats and dogs, so I can’t imagine it will rain with that intensity all week.In spite of the weather, though, it is exciting to be back. There’s a plethora of outdoor of activities one can do in the fall here, and I plan to take full advantage of the next couple of weeks!

Move in!

Wednesday, August 23rd, 2017

I’m in Duluth, and I have to say, I love this time of the year! I also love the quiet summers, but there is nothing as vibrant as the vibe in Duluth when students start arriving for college. It feels weird not being a part of it anymore, but I still feel connected being a graduate student. My advice for move in time is to enjoy it! Take photos, meet new people, and have an open mind. Do not judge, discriminate, or stereotype. Open your mind to endless opportunities and possibilities! This is the best time of the school year. And if you’re like me, you won’t be able to sleep before your first day of class..just as if you’re still in K-12!

Back to Duluth!

Sunday, March 26th, 2017

I am writing this post in transit at the Minneapolis International Airport. I am excited to be going back to school after 2 weeks away. After Spring Break, I went off to the West Coast and spent some time in the Bay Area – Silicon Valley, networking and visiting tech companies as part of a special all-expenses paid program that I and another CSS student were honored to be part of. While being away was very rewarding in terms of experience and the people I got to meet, places I got to visit and many other things, I will have to put up with overdue and current homeworks, labs, quizzes, and assignments from the past week. So if you don’t see my posts this week, I will be in incubation mode 🙂

Back in the swing

Well, it’s the end of the second week and I am tired. Its been a busy week of things to do and things to be at. Thankfully this semester is easier because I am not taking such a heavy course load – woo for being a senior!!

Back to School

Tuesday, March 29th, 2016

Today is the first day back from spring break.  Luckily, I don’t have any classes today, but I really wanted to get on top of my homework for the week.  I went to school and spent a couple of hours in the computer lab getting some research and writing done for two of my classes.  I got a lot of it done today, which will lessen the load later on in the week.  I am also trying to get ahead of homework because I am leaving for a research conference in North Carolina next week and will probably not have any time to do homework.  But I am excited to go!
