Accounting Conference

Sunday, October 20th, 2019

At the College of Saint-Scholastica, there are a lot of majors where there are a lot of conferences available. For my major accounting, there was an accounting conference in Minneapolis. Conferences are very useful because it’s an opportunity to go talk to employers, have help with your resume and take professinal headshots. The conference also got a good speaker that spoke about accounting and business in general. The conference also made students win prizes bought by the companies that came to the conference, I won a Boose speaker! After the conference, we went to a restaurant and spoke with alumnis of the school working in accounting and finance. It was a very good, I learned a lot from the alumnis and got very good advice as well over my major and what I should do after school.

Finding love at CSS!

Thursday, February 14th, 2019

I started my Valentine’s Day with a wide smile as I read a publication compiled by The College of St. Scholastica Alumni Association that features 40 couples that “found each other, and love, during their time together at St. Scholastica”. Then I came across the video above of a proposal made in an actual CSS classroom. GOALS!!! I think today the word ‘love’ was probably the most used word at CSS. In the student union, 3 clubs and organizations had Valentine’s Day activities such as Matchmaking (students fill out a form and hope for the best!) and writing notes and sending heart-shaped lollipops to friends, crushes, etc.

Saints Baseball via Internet

Wednesday, April 11th, 2018

As a Saints baseball alumnus I consistently try to catch as many games as possible. However, with school, internships, and “away” games it has been difficult at times. Thankfully, the sports information department does a fantastic job at providing live stats and occasionally live video of the games. I know they also do this with other CSS sports and events, which makes it really convenient for families, friends, and supporters of our programs to tune in to all of the action. Be sure to checkout the CSS athletic home page to find the sporting events you are interested in attending or pulling up live feed on your phone or computer!

Viverant Internship Update

Monday, August 21st, 2017

Quick update: I am currently in week 7/8 of my first terminal internship in Vadnais Heights, MN at Viverant, an outpatient orthopaedic setting physical therapy setting. It has been an awesome experience learning from some fantastic clinical instructors, who also happen to be CSS DPT alumni themselves. I have had the opportunity to go to a few of the other clinics in the area, including Eagan and Minnetonka to observe and learn from a few other PT’s at Viverant.

Viverant Physical Therapy

Thursday, March 2nd, 2017

Yesterday I had my afternoon open following classes and I decided to take advantage of the opportunity to go hang out with a local physical therapist, DJ Lahti, at Viverant in Duluth, MN. I wanted to get back into the clinic and just observe, pick up a few tips/tricks, and clinically reason/think with real patients prior to starting my 6-week clinic rotation at school. DJ is one of our adjunct faculty at the College of St. Scholastica in the Physical Therapy program. He is also a CSS baseball alumni, which is how I knew him first, having played ball myself at CSS prior to starting the PT program.
