YES, I did my taxes!

Have you done yours yet? I know it can totally nerve-wrecking to think about having to do Taxes . . . especially as an International student. To be fair, I am still am not clear on what and why I am required to file State as well as Federal taxes for. However, as the College suggests, I comply with whatever is suggested to secure no issues and complications. Therefore, I filed my taxes this weekend.

The school found some spare budget to allocate toward purchase of a software– Sprintax, which assists to make filling taxes hustle-free for students.  It was easy to follow for sure. There were certain parts and questions which I required clarification to, but apart from that, Sprintax helped out to cut down the time tremendously. And the best thing about all of this is . . . is was all paid for by the school. Although I would have wished to see this initiative my throughout my course of time at CSS, but better late than never.

I am pleased to have this resources in place for students, however, a little educational information regarding the same to provide context to students wouldn’t be a bad idea. Being an International student, I was required to file for a SSN on which I pay the nominal taxes, but don’t really utilize or benefit from it. Hence, to give more transparency through sharing would aid in comprehending the same.

Hope you all get your taxes done in time!
