No SBT Club this semester
WHAT? WHY?
I received an email yesterday from the President of the SBT Club – Hannah Zeis letting members in the Club know about the current status of the same. The Club is basically not going to be functional this semester. And the major factor being low involvement from students. This is painful to see, as I was genuinely excited about Hannah taking the lead. Not only is she as person amazing, but also her perspective on community is vital to the position.
What’s sad is the reason as why the Club won’t be operating anymore! It’s ironic that students do not show up to meets, events and occasions organized and executed for their benefit. However, I wouldn’t blame and point fingers, since I, myself haven’t been able to make it to multiple events put up by the Club due to pre-engagements, etc. It is definitely a shame that the initiative started by students to guide and support other fellow students is being eliminated.
I was an active member of this Club the semester before the last one. We put on an amazing ‘Trade Show’ event where students presented their business ideas, prototypes, and more. The Club also arranged for a panel with reputed as well as reliable personnels to provide some constructive feedback to the participating members.
Besides the nostalgia, Hannah is open and looking for ideas as well as thoughts on any events, discussions that may benefit us. If you do come across something that could be organized and leveraged through SBT Club, feel free to shoot out an email to the Club. It would be delightful to see the Club regain its rep and built on it!
