Mary’s Feedback

Finalizing a RESUME is no joke . . . take it from someone who’s currently working on theirs!

From having the proper content down to formatting succinctly for better comprehension of the viewer . . . each detail is significant. I personally am a huge fan of formatting in order to best represent as well as highlight skills & qualities. However, to get my resume critiqued and ready to be sent out,I went to the Career Services. I was hoping to see one of the student employees who could take a look at my resume; proofread and certainly make some suggestions.

Lucky Me! I was able to meet with Mary Anderson instead. Not because there were no student employees, but because Mary was free and I walked in at a great time!

After tearing my Resume apart, Mary then grabbed . . . I am Kidding! Although, I did receive some tremendous feedback, not only the addition of information and tweaking the existing content, but also changing the structure of formatting were suggestions I couldn’t agree more with.

This Is Important KIDS: We have to have someone proofread our resume before we begin using it.

Besides the usual constructive criticism on my Resume, Mary then shared some remarkable resources to search and find jobs around the US. Unlike Handshake, these websites are detached to the CSS student account. If you want to know more, you should visit the Career Services and find Mary!

All in all, I had an amazing session with Mary where I found ways to improve my resume and its potential as well as credible resources to rely on.

Hope you guys take a stroll to Career Services soon. The office stands proud & tall opposite to Banner Lab!
