Daylight Savings

I am a little too late already, but hey…nobody else wrote a blog about it yet! Giggles.

So first and foremost make sure to turn your clock back by an hour. Daylight savings began on Sunday, November 4. It is the practice of advancing clocks during winter months so that evening daylight lasts longer, while sacrificing normal sunrise times. This practice was commenced as early as 1890s by George Hudson, who was an entomologist.

I definitely feel the urge to save as much sunshine as we can. Duluth, during the winter might not be the most joyful place at first glance. And the dull, gloomy, climate conditions only makes it worse.

In times like these, a sunlamp can come to rescue. Look for the sunlamps and refill you vitamin D doses regularly at the Library. Ask for the sunlamps! To further assure uplifted moods, and no harm due to lack of vitamin D, one may take over-the-counter supplements after consulting a professional. Make the best of your winter time in Duluth.
