We had our first speaker commence at 8:20 am, Megan Avery, who is Recruiter at St. Luke’s Hospital, talk about ‘Successful Careers within the Healthcare Industry’. She focused on multiple and diverse career paths available in the industry, that need to be explore. With an emphasize on how to prepare your personal road-map to these maps.
Moving on to our next speaker, Ian Scherber, who is the CEO as well as the Founder of Duluth Screen Printing. Ian, being the 24-yound entrepreneur presented his immediate struggles and takeaways for his journey. He talked abut ‘What takes to be an effective leader…And the importance of values in building and running your own business?’. I personally, enjoyed this talk as it was super relevant and relatable. I genuinely liked Ian’s way of connecting with his audience and his genuinely to talk about real struggles and personal life.
Our last speaker as in Science Auditorium, Christine Seitz, who is the Executive & Artistic Director at Duluth playhouse. Christine was present to talk about ‘Principles ad practices for Nonprofit Excellence’. She brought up her experiences in running a non-profit running organization. She elaborated on the importance of fundraising and the fundamentals responsibilities to operate a successful non-profit organization.
After the respective talks, CSS put on a ‘Networking Lunch with area professionals and industries’ starting from 11:45 am going on until 1:00 pm.
