4th of July

United States of America adopted the ‘Declaration of Independence’ on 4th of July, 1776. The Continental Congress had voted on declaring Independence two days prior on 2nd July.

13 American colonies were collectively declared independent. These colonies regarded themselves as ‘United States of America’, and were no longer a part of the British Empire.

Although, today, Americans celebrate their Independence in full swing and fullest. Politicians make a known attempt to appear publicly and praise the heritage of the nation. Most families organize picnics, barbecues and get-togethers to utilize the long weekend or that extra day off to its best. However, the Independence Day Parade is what intrigues great attention.

Lavish parades often come through earlier in the morning. Washington D.C. has the most remarkable, extravagant and wide-known parade in America. It is held on Constitution Avenue from 7th-17th street, starting 11:45 am, and it runs until 2:00 pm.

The grand Parade invites bands, fife and drum corps, floats, military and specialty units, giant balloons, equestrian, drill teams, VIP’s, national dignitaries, and celebrity participants to add the existing excellence. The Parade marks a major national event  seeking to draw the attention of Americans to the real meaning for the holiday.

It is a patriotic, flag-waving, red white and blue celebration of America’s birthday!
