The Presidential Inauguration

Dr. Colette McCarrick Geary standing as the honorable new president of The College of St. Scholastica

On October 14, 2016, I was honored to witness a historical event. Dr. Colette McCarrick Geary was christened as our 12th president of this fine institution. Before she was officially recognized as our new president, guest speakers including the Duluth mayor Emily Larson, president of Saint Benedict Mary Dana Hinton, Ph.D., and many others spoke about Dr. Geary with warm hearts.

After the event was a wonderful dinner, filled with extremely important guests and CSS students. I have to be honest, I didn’t expect this to be as fun as it was. Everyone was smiling from ear to ear, and some of us (like myself) had the opportunity to speak with the president herself. When it came to the Duluth Mayor, I was actually afraid to speak to her. However, my friends did. My favorite part of the lunch was me helping out a sister and her food. I don’t remember her name, but I do remember laughing because this sister was mighty funny. It was so nice.
