Using Free Time To Study

So far during my internship, I have had a handful of slow days at the clinic, leaving hours here and there of down time. What do I do during this down time?

  1. Study
  2. Shadow other therapists
  3. Work on school/internship assignments
  4. Job hunt
  5. Chit chat with my Clinical Instructor

With the end of my program just around the corner, the licensing board is just around the corner too. So, I have been trying to make the most of my spare time in the clinic to study! I have study guides in my backpack that I review to help brush up on a variety of topics. I have two books that are National Physical Therapy Exam (NPTE) study books that I have been reviewing and I took a practice exam a couple weeks ago to help get a baseline measurement in order to better focus my studying. I find it hard to keep up motivation, especially having a full day of clinic, so I try and take a little me time right after work to workout, eat dinner, unwind just a little, then sit down and study for an hour or so before getting ready for bed.
