Trying New Foods

One of the really neat things about the apartment complex that I am living in is that there are tenants from all over the world. The majority of the people in my apartment that I have met have been a part of a research program here at Mayo and they are research fellows or research trainees. One of the guys, Tony, was originally from Taiwan, grew up in Canada, went back to Taiwan for a while and is now at Mayo doing research in plastic surgery. Any who, one night he let me try his dinner:  Japanese Ramen! It was good, he gave me a couple packs to make on my own. I realized, the next night when I was going to make it, the packaging was all in Japanese and I had no idea exactly how to make it since it was different then ramen that I have made before. Needless to say, I had to have Tony come down and show me how to make the ramen haha It’s been fun to get to know people and learn about different cultures so far on my internship!
