Slow Times

One thing that has been interesting since the first of the year, is that it has been pretty slow at my internship. For the first time, since my schedule opened up, I had no patients scheduled. Usually, my whole day isn’t full, but I’ve never had a full day open. So, for that morning, I shadowed another therapist who was covering “Team Clinic” that morning. Team clinic is a program designed for Mayo Clinic Employees where there is a therapist, physician, sometimes an athletic trainer working as a team to triage and treat patients. DJ, the therapist I was following, (He’s also a sports PT resident) would see the patients first and then determine if they would need a physicians consult for further consultation and or imaging. It was fun to see that and see the collaboration amongst the different professionals. The plus side to being slow at my internship is that I can take that opportunity to  see how other therapists work!
