    Shauney's Bio:
I graduated from CSS in 2014 with a B.A. in psychology with a biology minor and completed the M.S. EXP program at CSS in 2015. I am now a 2nd year physical therapy student at CSS and I'm loving it! I chose St. Scholastica based on the welcoming environment. I played softball at CSS during my four years of undergraduate studies. I am now the Captain of the CSS Love Your Melon Crew and a PT club rep. I enjoy the company of my friends, being outside, playing volleyball, relaxing and my cat Mittens!

Meet My Friend Megan!

She has attended CSS for two years now, and will be a junior in the Nursing program this year! She has only been in the nursing program for one semester, but she loves the culture and support from the staff and fellow students.

St. Scholastica is known for its rigorously successful nursing program, which is what drew her to CSS. The small class sizes promote a culture of success and connections between students and professors. At CSS you are not a number.

She is involved in Love Your Melon, Student Nursing Association, the honors program at CSS, and also works at Burns Wellness Center (the gym on campus).

Her favorite thing about Duluth is that there is always something going on, whether it’s comedy night or a hike on the vast amount of trails in Duluth, there is something for everyone!

Her advice for upcoming students is to make connections with professors, it goes a long way when you need them to read over a paper or write a letter of reference. You should also take advantage of the vast amount of resources CSS provides students: the writing center, tutoring center, career services, etc. These resources are often overlooked by students but are extremely beneficial to those who utilize them.

These are the things that Megan would include on a Duluth bucket list:

  • Lakewalk
  • Split Rock Light House
  • Gooseberry Falls
  • Park Point
  • Comedy Night downtown
  • Enger Tower
  • Grandma’s
