    Shauney's Bio:
    I graduated from CSS in 2014 with a B.A. in psychology with a biology minor and completed the M.S. EXP program at CSS in 2015. I am now a 2nd year physical therapy student at CSS and I'm loving it! I chose St. Scholastica based on the welcoming environment. I played softball at CSS during my four years of undergraduate studies. I am now the Captain of the CSS Love Your Melon Crew and a PT club rep. I enjoy the company of my friends, being outside, playing volleyball, relaxing and my cat Mittens!

Baseball/Softball Summit

On January 13th, I was able to attend the Mayo Clinic Sports Medicine Baseball/Softball Summit. It was a full day (7am-6pm) of everything baseball/softball. There were presentations from other physical therapist, surgeons, coaches, performance coaches, etc. to talk about the sport, new research, surgery methods, maintenance of the athlete and so much more. A plus of the day was that we were supplied food, and it was really good food!

I learned a lot of good information that I can start incorporating into my physical therapy practice. I really liked the talk about mindfulness and the athlete. They gave us some good ideas on how to get the athlete to re-focus which will help not only practice and play, but return to sport after an injury as well.
