    Pat's Bio:
My name is Pat Bigaouette. I am a Senior Biology major. I run on the cross country and track teams at Scholastica. I currently live in Somers Hall as the Residential Advisor for Ground Floor North. Also, I am actively involved in Scholastica's theater program and hope to get cast in one of the four shows this season. This summer I conducted clinical research at Hennepin County Medical Center in the Emergency room. I also traveled to New York City to pick up a friend from school and, of course, saw the show "Wicked" on Broadway.

Full day of work and a little trashy tv

I have been working day and night planning RA training, applying to medical school and finishing off my summer class. Each day is packed with seminars, lectures, mock rounds, team meals and group bonding. Dairy Queen or State Fair anyone? With the very little free time I have, I usually run straight for my bed, throw the television on and pass out. What is the purpose of turning on the television if I am just going to nap? Well… I am a tv-aholic. Trashy television programs are my best friend (Sorry Kyle Akervik and Laura Lewiski).

With the school year rapidly approaching, it is a good idea to have some de-stressors to take your mind off of school, work and activities. Some de-stressors are probably healthier than others. I love to run, so I feel like I can afford to be a bum and watch the television every once in a while. St. Scholastica provides free wireless internet and cable for students living on campus…so its pretty hard to pass up a night of excellent tv trash…although the rock climbing wall and weight rooms are very tempting.

So what kind of television shows do I watch to de-stress from the long day? All of them. While I may not be paying attention to the television, I love all shows from “JerseyShore” to “House Hunters”….heck, I’ll even watch the  “Real Housewives” of pretty much any city. Although I love pretty much any kind of television show, here are my top television shows I pretend that I don’t watch:

 10) True Life

9) Real World (Including the Challenges)

8 ) Millionaire Matchmaker

7) Flipping Out

6) Keeping Up With The Kardashians

5) Real Housewives

2) Glee

1) Grey’s Anatomy

While I am not proud of most of my television viewing choices, it is fun to watch the ridiculousness of the tv shows. Happy trashy television viewing!
