    Pat's Bio:
My name is Pat Bigaouette. I am a Senior Biology major. I run on the cross country and track teams at Scholastica. I currently live in Somers Hall as the Residential Advisor for Ground Floor North. Also, I am actively involved in Scholastica's theater program and hope to get cast in one of the four shows this season. This summer I conducted clinical research at Hennepin County Medical Center in the Emergency room. I also traveled to New York City to pick up a friend from school and, of course, saw the show "Wicked" on Broadway.

Jumpstart on College with S.O.A.R

Classes do not begin until September 6th, but plenty of students (including myself) will be making the trek back to St. Scholastica early. While students arrive on campus early for sports or work, many freshmen are starting their college careers off early by attending a student outdoor adventure retreat (SOAR) through Outdoor Pursuit (OP!). SOAR is a program that  allows incoming students, along with well-trained guides, to bond with fellow students while exploring northern Minnesota. SOAR trips include:

– Apostle Islands  Sea Kayaking

-Pictured Rocks Backpacking

-Adventure Duluth Multisport

-BWCA Canoeing and Fishing

Student Outdoor Adventure Retreat: Apostle Islands

Student Outdoor Adventure Retreat: BWCA

These trips are amazing for meeting new people and are a great way to be exposed to the outdoor clubs and activities we have on campus. I highly recommend checking out the SOAR website. While you’re there take a peek at climbing wall, the recreation classes Scholastica offers for credit and the equipment Outdoor Pursuit (OP!) has available for rent.

Have a  great rest of the summer!
