Volunteer Fair
Today my Career Exploration class met for a few minutes during class time to prepare for the Volunteer Fair that was being held in the Student Union. Career Exploration is a cool class where students learn how to navigate internship/job/research applications and opportunities. The class is required for Accounting and CIS majors, but anyone can take it. There’s another similar, but more in depth, Career class that one can take. I plan on taking it in my Junior year. Now back to the fair …
At the Volunteer Fair, I met with representatives from many organizations who were advertising volunteer opportunities and/or the work they do. Students who visited 6 organizations automatically qualified to be entered into a draw, so we will see how that goes! In the meantime, I plan on reaching out to the representatives I had a conversation with today and find out how best I can make use of my time and volunteer!
PS – You can learn more about Career courses and seminars by going to the Career Services website.
