The importance of internships!
A good number of programs at CSS requires or recommends an internship experience. One can pursue either a paid or unpaid internship. Participating in an internship program is just as important and beneficial as learning in the classroom.
As an intern:
- You can apply your classroom learning in professional environments such as research labs, hospitals, corporate offices, camps, etc
- You gain the work experience that helps you put your education into practice, develop your leadership skills and give you a competitive advantage as you pursue a permanent position.
- You can gain exposure to your chosen field. Participating in an internship program can be a great way to learn more about a particular field and experience what it’s like working in it before committing to it fully.
- You can network and gain professional contacts who might help you as you build your career.
