Intro to Zimbabwean Cuisine
Advisement week is upon us and so is class registration! I am taking the liberty to polish my sense of humor and work on becoming an idea hamster. I am now determined to start my own free class on Zimbabwean food. No credits, no fees, no assignments or tests, just taste, ingredients, interest, and of course an appetite. Enrollment starts whenever I am depressed and miss my favorite food and I have time to make it (as best as I can). What about the syllabus? Well, participants are expected not to complain when I burn the relish and set the fire alarm off! After all, it’s all about having a good time, relaxing, cooking (which I am bad at and working on perfecting – a liberal arts and science education requires me to be well- and all- rounded in knowledge and skills, as far as I am concerned…besides cooking is a must-have skill) and experimenting with a couple or more recipes. By the end of the meal, hopefully no one will be hungry or will take on the role of young Oliver Twist in Charles Dickens novel (by the same title) and ask for more! Now dear reader, if you think you are interested in this class please leave a comment or contact me! All students are expected to teach me to make something I don’t know how to make. Extra credit (points? free meals?) to students who know how to make a foreign dish! Let the fun begin!!

Expected Result – Sadza, fried kale, beef stew (hot and well done)

Some of the ingredients: Toamtoes, pepper, kale, add onions, corn meal, vegetable oil, and.. (a good chef does not reveal the entire secret…right?)

Help yourself…
