The Fundamentals of Caring

Tonight my roommate and I watched The Fundamentals of Caring. It’s a great movie on Netflix, and a great way to spend a cheap night at home.

I really like the movie for a few reasons, but one thing that stuck with me was at the beginning of the film (so it doesn’t count as a spoiler) when it’s stated that to take care of other people, you have to first take care of yourself. That’s an important quote to me, especially in social work where self care is a vital part of the profession.

Netflix nights with the roomie don’t happen as much as they used to, but they’re a favorite of mine when they can happen.
