Paper Writing

Writing papers is always one of the most difficult parts of finals. Not because I struggle with papers, really, it’s my attention span that’s more of the problem. So I have a few methods to try and keep me on track.

  • Background noise. Such as reruns of Friends that I’ve seen over and over. If a whole episode goes by that I’ve done no writing, then I know I’m not focused enough.
  • One page an hour is usually a good goal for me. At least when I’m drafting.
  • Locking myself in my room. No roommates, no friends, just me and my paper.

I’ll admit, all these things only sometimes work. There are plenty of other things that distract me. Like…writing…a…blog post…

I should get back to my paper.
