I have been a part of the Saints community for nearly ten years, as a CSS student (twice over), as an active member of our Alumni Board of Directors, and as a counselor on our fantastic Admissions team—I am St. Scholastica through and through! Day 11: Thanks, Veterans.

Dear Veterans,

Today, I am thankful for you. I’m thankful for your loyalty, selflessness, and unmatched courage. I’m thankful to live in the United States of America, a nation made great because of the service from men and women like you.

I’ll admit, it’s often easy to feel disconnected from the current wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and it’s even easier to feel disconnected from our history. But it is hard to imagine living in a country without the very freedoms you fought for and achieved, and for that, I’m grateful every day.

You are our nation’s heroes. Thank you for your service.
