99 days!

So, as you can probably imagine I’ve been anxiously/excitedly looking forward to February 14th for some time now (did you forget why?). Lately, I find myself practically obsessed with my day planner – even more than usual, and cannot resist the urge to continually count down the days in my head. I’m like a human countdown widget with my own ever-changing version of Rent’s Seasons of Love on repeat. (Disclaimer – I heard a stat that only about 5% of babies arrive on their actual due dates, so while I feverishly count down the days, she’s probably laughing her head off at how wrong I am. I get the impression this babe has an ironic sense of humor.)

I discovered this little gem online today (side note: I cannot figure out how to embed a video into wordpress – can any of you help? I copied the embed code from youtube and pasted it under the html tab of my post with no luck), and I am very excited to announce I have a new countdown: 99 days ’til THE HUNGER GAMES movie is released! {Cheers!} {High-fives!} {Banana jumps!} If you have not watched the trailer yet, abandon everything else and watch it immediately. Be warned, though, you will have goosebumps after viewing.

I devoured the first two books, and while the second book ends with a pretty significant cliff hanger, I can’t bring myself to buy the third one just yet. It’s like a delicious dessert that I can’t bear to eat the last bite of. Also, I know that once I buy it, I will forego sleep, work, the husband, and everything else of importance to finish it. And so, I’ll probably be reading it over my Xmas break. Can’t wait!

Yet another disclaimer, I am eager to see Hollywood’s interpretation but I don’t anticipate it will be better than the book; is ANY movie better than the book?! Nuh-uh. Even still, it’s an exciting thing to look forward to, and only 99 days away. Who’s comin’ with me?
