Cheer Camp: Day 1
It’s the weekend we’ve all been waiting for since we made the football cheerleading squad last spring: overnight cheer camp. This is the weekend where we practice from day until night, then eat dinner together and spend our nights teambuilding in the Somers suites. I’ve been involved with cheerleading for about ten years, but it’s never the same from year to year, even when you’re a returning squad member. Coming into camp, I hadn’t really gotten to know any of the girls too well (since I’m a recent transfer student), but it was an easy transition from being close to strangers to really becoming teammates. This happened all within a day! There is nothing like being a part of a team and sharing that bond with those people. I’m so excited to take my time at CSS to the next level by participating in this sport and becoming a positive role model and representative for the college.
