Occupational Therapists in Education
Today, my group did a presentation on how Occupational Therapists help adapt educational environments. This can be done in many ways, giving visual aids, having extra test taking time, adjustable tables, handicapped parking, using larger font, or adjusting pencil grip. The are 3 main styles of learning: Visual, Auditory, and Tactile. We emphasized on visual learning through a task where one group received written instructions, one received a visual sample only and the last group received both instructions and a sample. The class noted how completing the task was difficult without having a visual aid to follow. Here is picture of our craft!
